How It All Started

Hey Guys! My name is Bella Harris and I am from South Carolina, born and raised. Golf has always been a passion of mine, and through the years this sport has been a part of major milestones in my life. Through my time as an undergraduate student, and graduate student, I was blessed with the opportunity to compete and play for two amazing universities. Upon graduating from graduate school, I decided I would turn professional.

No one ever really prepares you for what lies ahead when embarking on this journey. The mini tour life has many challenges, including finding the financial backing for the career.

When I started playing professional golf, I worked 3 jobs to pay my way on the mini-tours. This past year I quickly realized that working 3 jobs and maintaining a professional playing career was nearly impossible. I had to be more creative and began to think outside the box.

I decided to take my 2015 Ford F-150 and renovate it to be my home on the mini tour circuit. I bounce around from course to course grilling out on my tailgate. Living out of my truck allowed me to play in more tournaments throughout the year. Unfortunately, I was still faced with financial difficulties.

I struggled to find forms of sponsorship, and while I am lucky to have had some special people in my life provide opportunities for me in the past, I knew it wouldn’t be enough. This led to the creation of my brand, “Rip it & Reel”. In addition to golf, I have always had a passion for fishing! When I’m on the road, I love to spend my free time near a pond between practice rounds and tournament play. This brand has become a new way for me to take the financial load off my back.

My goal right now for the brand is to help financially support my golf career, while bridging two types of hobbies that I feel work just right together. Aside from golf, I hope to grow the brand in the future and see where it takes me.

I promised myself that no matter what hardship I faced through my journey to the LPGA, I wouldn’t let financial reasons keep me from seeing it through. This brand means so much more to me than the sport of fishing and golf. I believe it’s a symbol of perseverance and dedication. I hope you guys will find your joy in it too!

As always
